Abstract

The book collection of the History of Medicine Department of the Cluj „Iuliu Haţieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy was created during the first interwar decade, by Prof. Dr. Jules Guiart (1870-1965) – the founder of this department. For this purpose Guiart was helped by his disciple Valeriu Bologa (1892-1971). The collection was developed between 1930 and 1962, when Bologa was professor and head of this department. Some books have a special value, owing to their author’s dedications. A part of these dedications were personalized, being addressed to V. Bologa and to other professors of the Cluj Faculty of Medicine. Other volumes were offered „to the Library of the Cluj Institute of History of Medicine”.
