The benefits of using continuous glucose monitoring in patients with type 1 diabetes – a systematic review
Abstract
One of the most recently acquired methods of assessing the efficiency of the
glycaemic control in patients with type 1 diabetes is the Continuous Glucose Monitoring
(CGM). This method is important for patients with type 1 diabetes in which
control is more difficult. Out of the 122 papers examined, 41 were considered adequate
for analysis in this study. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the benefits of the
CGM in improving glucose control and reducing the incidence of extreme levels of
glycaemia.
